Coffee this morning from the drive-through at Dunkin' Donuts: large coffee with five creams. There was a tornado warning early this morning but I slept through it. Listened (through the headphones of course) to a beautiful oboe concerto by Strauss (Richard) while checking email: the Concerto for Oboe and Small Orchestra in a new recording, via Gramophone's Listening Room in iTunes. It's always a revelation to hear a lesser known work by one of the great composers. I love that I can hear the keys of the oboe being pressed. (Are they keys?)

I made pancakes for breakfast--a Martha Stewart recipe, except I used buttermilk and added some baking soda. Two large ones. Prepped several papers for the May board meeting of Politics & Society. Went for a 20-minute walk. It was already warm in my  jeans and long-sleeved shirt.

I made a trip to the grocery store and wore the black mask that A.R. gave me. I bought a bag of tangerines, frozen blueberries, frozen cherries, a whole baked chicken, and dental floss.

I've already eaten too much today: the pancakes, the chicken, lemon cookies.

A 40-minute walk this afternoon. It didn't feel as warm during the five o'clock hour as it did earlier. From my apartment on Morreene to the storage facility at the end of Kangaroo is ten, eleven minutes. Rounds trip, a twenty-minute walk. Did it three times today. So, sixty minutes in all. I walked under the shade of a beautiful oak tree on La Salle.

I showered and shaved tonight--an event, in these work-from-home times. I did a crossword puzzle created by MH, with clues and answers related to our beach trips.

Went to bed early tonight--8:30. I stayed up until 2 last night.
